Teen Success, Inc. Class of 2020
This year, Teen Success, Inc's young mothers graduated high school and joined the Class of 2020. We gave college scholarships to 6 outstanding young mothers who are overcoming the challenges facing them and pursuing their dream of higher education.
With the right support, young women who become mothers in their teens can attain success in school and in life, for themselves and their children. The young women we serve often face a cycle of poverty that has clung on generation after generation (62% of our participants were born to parents in their teens). Without support, the majority of teen mothers do not graduate from high school, and too often the cycle of poverty and young parenthood continues in their families.
Teen Success, Inc. supports young families to forge their path out of poverty. We partner with them to develop action plans, access services, practice their parenting skills and ensure they are on track to graduate high school. Through our scholarship program, Teen Success members can receive financial support to pursue higher education or acquire specialized trade skills. Graduating high school and pursing higher education means more opportunities for young moms and more security in their children’s lives.
