Elizabeth E: When I was little my mom put me into an afterschool program working on computers. I love doing things on the computer and trying new things. That’s why I decided to study computer science at College of San Mateo.
Elizabeth is 22-years old. She’s a smart, hard-working young woman and a dedicated student, but she didn’t always like school.

Elizabeth E: Learning that I was pregnant made me realize that my pregnancy shouldn’t stop me from continuing my education. I learned that as a parent, you have to take care of your children and you have to learn to think twice about the decisions you are making. Tony motivates me to continue my education because I can give him a better life.
Elizabeth joined the Teen Success Redwood City program in 2015. She visited colleges with her peers and their Advocate, Marylu. At the campus visit, Marylu helped her and the other moms ask questions about the enrollment process and if day care was available for their babies.
Elizabeth E: Teen Success, Inc. helped me feel connected and that I am not alone. I’m really grateful because they gave me the opportunity to continue my education and that even though I’m a mom it’s never too late.

Elizabeth E: To me success is having opportunities. Now that I’m in school, I gotta teach Tony everything that’s good about school.
If I could give advice to a young mom in high school, it would be to never give up. Even if you’re young and you have a child, you can do it. You can still go to school and have a better future for your baby.
